I did a quick test on these 2 URL's and both MPD and VLC show the bitrate is ~64K RE: Post your WebRadio finds! - Listener supported and Ad free :-) - Nutul - 12-05-2024 (12-05-2024, 04:41 PM)Tim Curtis Wrote:(12-04-2024, 06:36 PM)Tim Curtis Wrote:(12-04-2024, 05:45 PM)Player10 Wrote: Hi to Tim and all! I see 320 on the top one and 128 on the bottom one. BTW, good deep bass and stereo image... ;-) Could it be it depends on where you are located? To me they look like german stations, and I am in Europe, but you guys are overseas... RE: Post your WebRadio finds! - Listener supported and Ad free :-) - Tim Curtis - 12-05-2024 Could be some sort of geo location conditions. What did you use to determine the bitrate? Same here from the UK. RE: Post your WebRadio finds! - Listener supported and Ad free :-) - Tim Curtis - 12-05-2024 Ok, I can prolly Add "128K" and "320K" stations RE: Post your WebRadio finds! - Listener supported and Ad free :-) - TheOldPresbyope - 02-12-2025 Earlier today, @Analogue Dial asked if anyone else had come across Octave Radio. See the link he provided for more details of what it's all about. I've been listening to it this afternoon and am enjoying the eclectic mix being played. For those interested, here's the link I'm using here in the US. (There's no mention of geofencing but you'll have to see for yourself.) https://octaverecords.out.airtime.pro/octaverecords_a Free streaming with no ads.. They don't seem to have a specific station logo so I quickly threw one together by grabbing a PNG file from one of their web pages, gimp'ing the station name onto it, and converting the result to JPG. It and the original PNG are attached. I should go back and do a better job on the choice of font and placement but I'll be happy if someone else beats me to it. They are streaming mp3 in VBR (moOde claims 192 kbps). Everything I've heard so far is intimately recorded and sounds very good. So says VLC. Indeed, nice listening here in the oldest town in Europe; so no geo-fencing.
