The 'medium quality' setting in SoX really is nice!

Today, I tried 64-bit architecture on my rpi4. It took detail, openness, and width to the next level, but at the expense of the warmth of “medium quality” setting. In this configuration, I found that upsampling to 24/192 (no multithreading) yielded best results, which was very forward but still warm enough to reduce fatigue, just not as warm as with 32-bit arch.

I’m still debating whether to get a SPDIF HAT, like the Allo Digione, but then I used to think my Denon HEOS sounded pretty good. I can’t imagine SQ being much better than it is now just straight rpi4 usb to a Modi Multibit, but here I am. But right now, I would put this setup up against any streamer/dac under $1000.
