Hello - wilki3093 - 09-15-2024 Hi, so just got access to the forums (ty admins). So I ran thru a couple of OS attempting to use a fresh new Pimoroni Pirate Radio 3 watt hat on a fresh new RaspPi Zero 2 W. Currently with a 8GB SD card, I do plan to upgrading to a larger SD soon but not today. So after many OS's I found mo0de and I have managed to muddle thru. Let me say what's been done so far. Installed the moOde OS Ref: image_2024-02-23-moode-r839-arm64-lite.zip Loaded the Pimoroni driver found under Audio Output in the Config menu. Under Peripherals: GPIO buttons "on" Then edit the buttons the following way: For the buttons: Buttons 1- 4 on button 1 - GPIO - 5 - CMD: mpc, play button 2 - GPIO - 6 - CMD: mpc, stop button 3 - GPIO - 16 - CMD: mpc, volume, +7 button 4 - GPIO - 24 - CMD: mpc, volume, -7 I selected 7 cause its less than 10 units which seemed fast, and more than 5. Logically, yes volume may never set to 100% with out one extra overflow bump but that's ok with me. I am now looking for the code to enable the postage stamp screen on the pirate audio. After being excited that they worked, then realized I would prefer 2 or more buttons. I am thinking in the units final form 2 maybe more additional buttons. (Power & Source toggle) (I'd prob tie these off to the header post with a spare wire.) Thanks, -Lee W. RE: Hello - Tim Curtis - 09-15-2024 Why not use the latest 9.0.8 release? While searching the internets, people had posted they they did not have success with the latest releases, but had success with the lite install old versions. I went thru 5 other OS (that all was said to support the module) was starting to think it might be the module. I am relieved it is working, can now move on and try the new release. As well as I can reference my other post as notes to reference the settings. Your work is very well done. Thank you for making it available to the public. -Lee RE: Hello - Tim Curtis - 09-15-2024 I wouldn't rely on "Internet searches". Our Forum provides accurate and reliable information about moOde and top notch troubleshooting right from the developers. So far no problems with the software, only fears on the hardware is not working correctly. Loaded the new version references: using the latest update image 'image_2024-08-21-moode-r908-arm64-lite' set named I2S device to HiFiBerry DAC restarted set output to hifiberry DAC Volume: software (checked) GPIO commands mpc, play mpc, stop mpc,volume,+7 mpc,volume,-7 seems the for me volume control did not work with a space between the comma and the +/-. So the 4 buttons work, it plays and I could perhaps put some music on it now with a 64gb sd. |
