No Sound From Digi2 Pro V2.2/ Pi5 - suffolktony - 03-23-2025
I recently bought one of these digi-out boards. Recognised in Moode config., music files play OK & the optical output lights up, but there's no sound from either output.
I've tried selecting “Digi2” under the I2S setting, but still no joy. Is there perhaps another setting I've overlooked?

Reboot and then post the contents of the startup log.
The log can be viewed via the SSH command moodeutl -l or downloaded via the Logs section in System Config, or via Menu, System info from any of the Config screens. The startup log will be at the end of System info output.

You could also check /boot/firmware/config.txt and verify that the correct driver is being loaded for the audio device.

I've tried playing Moode again but with the same result. I did try a copy of the Volumio software & the Pi5 plays fine with that, so there's something going on with Moode.

It's not obvious to me what might be happening, especially if Audio info shows an Output format is playing and MPD volume > 0.

It's worth a try.
It would eliminate any "hand modifications" that may have been done, or a bad in-place update.

I reinstalled a new copy of Moode. Updated things via the sudo command. Tried a different power supply. Still no joy. Then, on checking the audio, I changed the volume type to Fixed 0db. Success! I've just reinstalled Moode onto my Pi4 & notice this setting defaults to software (?)
Anyway, problem solved!

Yes the default is Software volume at level 0 for first use. We wouldn't want Fixed 0dB as the default otherwise if user doesn't notice than all of a sudden full volume :-0
