thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: - DougM - 05-30-2025 My /var/moode.log file shows many errors of the form thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: <then a path to the file on the NAS windows PC> When I do ls -l < to the same path that caused the error > I see the file permissions as -rwxrwxrwx for the file in question. I am confused about why that file can't be opened by the thumb-gen routine? Things do seem to work ok if I copy all the files to a local drive on the moOde, but that's not the goal at this time. Any suggestions? cheers Doug thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: RE: thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: - Tim Curtis - 05-30-2025 Check the permissions on the upstream directories and also the permission settings for that directory tree and SMB share on the Windows machine. RE: thumb-gen: Error: Unable to open file for reading: - DougM - 07-02-2025 Finally came back to this and figured it out.
