Graphic EQ units? - tristanc - 01-18-2019

Can anyone enlighten me on the graphic eq settings & units used:
  • is 66 across the board 'flat' and 0dB gain?
  • then is, e.g., 67 a 1dB increase?
Implying there is +34 & -66 range. This sounds a bit large.

Or is there some multiplying factor to provide a +/- 12dB range?

I'm trying to transpose an iTunes EQ preset (which happens to even out the response of my system nicely) over to MoOde, and hope there's a way to have the same settings on both.

Thanks!

The Alsaequal UI does not display dB and Ive never been able to find info about the mapping between the 0-100 Alsaequal scale and dB. The EQ plugin defaults to 66 which I assume is "Flat".

i ran across this link a few years back but I can't make any sense of it.

Thanks Tim - reckon this is a can of worms... I'll just do it by ear - no shortcuts! Also, situation will be made easier with 4.5 update as I can switch off the EQ in iTunes etc.
