I use the waveshare epaper display, the code use used is mainly waveshare's demo code with a little modification to use the mpd package to read whats playing in moode and if it's changed from the last item then I trigger an update of the epaper display.

Code is on my github

My first build and also my first Steps with Raspberry Pi and Moode

Raspberry Pi4/4Gb (in massive Aluminium Case to keep it cool and also for shielding)
UPS for all Parts (to minimize Ripple and so on, also shielded under a Cover and as Protection for the Batterys)
Filter for electricity (after UPS)
Power Button for UPS
LCD OLED (to show some Infos)
seperately shielded Filter Stack between Pi and Soundcard (some of them can be powered off)
Shielded and changeable DAC Cards
SD Card Extension
Big Screen (in a Wooden Case with Acrylglass Back and Airflow through Chromium Steel Plate)
With a suitable CD player in wood optics (a cheap one) to be able to rip CD`s

The Idea was to build a cheap Unit (also looked at ian canadas Components), with shielded, filtered and seperated Parts, to minimize Intereference and Ripples to get the most out of it.
