Trying to get started
#1
Hi,

I've come to a point where I don't enjoy listening music through my Naim streamer anylonger*. I decided to purge that from my system and built a raspberry pi based solution.

I'm a total noob and will need hand holding.

My first definition of success would be to play Qobuz through Bubble UPNP, or my favorite radio station into my USB dac (topping D30pro). Later I'll want more.
I've been trying a few things but wasn't able to get moode playing yet. I'll start another thread with the things I'm doing wrong such that hopefully other people can use that to have a smoother ride... .

Rob

* it started fresh out the box with the QA passed sticker glued to the screen that it was impossible to remove. Naim solved that by replacing the screen (turn back your brand new gadget to the dealer, wait a few weeks, get back unit with new screen)
Then a couple of years ago, it didn't want to boot anymore. It spend a year and half at Naim for repairs, costing 750€
Now it tends to cut out. sometimes after 6 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes, it's been a while that it managed to play a complete concerto...

Hi Tim,

Thanks!

This is where I am...
Following the instructions. Flash the OS on the SD card with following settings:
Hostname checked. Value moode.local
username and password checked and filled out
wifi not checked
Regional settings filled out

-put the SD card in the raspberry pi
-plug ethernet cable in raspberry pi
-plug power in raspberry pi
--> my browser doesn't find moode.local

following different instructions found on the www:
-download OS
-flash to sd card using rufus
-plug ethernet in raspberry pi
-plug power in raspberry pi

-->browser does find moode local. I can go to settings and update the network settings. Then the UI becomes unresponsive

I have an ethernet switch in my office,soI have
router->more powerful wifi router->switch->raspberry pi
---------------------------------------- ->pc on wifi

changing that to:
router->more powerful wifi router->raspberry pi
 ---------------------------------------- ->pc on wifi

fixed the problem using the SD card flashed with the raspberri pi imager.

Hi and welcome.

Good you managed to get it up and running.
I’m new user and used the pi imager and never encountered any issues regarding the moOde install.
