Solved: Device Missing in Spotify Connect
#1
Confused Hey everyone, new here and not super experienced with RPi or networking or really anything having to do with what I'm working on.

I have the latest mo0de flashed onto my RPi zero 2w and enabled the Spotify and bluetooth renderers. I am able to connect to bluetooth and confirmed audio works as expected that way. However my device never appears in Spotify Connect.

I do have a spotify premium account.

Any troubleshooting techniques or ideas are very welcome!

Thanks

P.S. happy to share logs if needed or helpful.

Whats your network like? Is it a single residential WiFi Router or something more complex?

It's interesting, I think it is one single residential, but when i logged into the router admin and checked out the device list I saw moode on 2.4ghz, my computer on 5.0ghz, Iphone on 2.4ghz.

Typically the symptom "..doesnt show up in the Spotify app's connect list" is caused by some sort of network issue.

- Configure all your clients to use the same WiFi band, either 2.4 or 5. The 5GHz band usually has less congestion and interference.
- Reboot your WiFi Router

Edit: This enabled the device to appear, however, i can only connect briefly before it disconnects. Unable to stream.

That did the trick. Odd, I doubted it would matter if i was certain the device i intended to connect from was on the same router channel as the RPi.

Of note: difficulty connecting to the network when only 5gh was enabled. Had to use 2.4gh only.

There was a problem with the audio output setting. Resolved! Thanks so much for your help Smile
