Idea: Song preview before adding it to playlist
#1
Hi,

I often have the situation that when choosing songs for a current playlist I stumble over a song I don't remember properly.
But if I choose 'play' it is added to the current playlist - which is not desirable (often).

So maybe there's a simple workaround to overcome this default behaviour of MPD ...?

Maybe somthing like storing the actual playlist to a temporary - playing the selected song - and restoring the temporary one?

Any ideas welcome!

Cheers Stephan

Maybe the logic for the startup chime could be useful.

After starting play you would stop it after N seconds then remove the item from the Queue.

Ah yes - good idea just to add - play - and then remove it from queue

Thx!

Additionally, if actual playlist is playing, one could store the current song and its postion and start playback there after the preview.

Ok, I think I have something to play with, now  Big Grin
