Hi everyone.

This is Michi, I am excited to be part of the Moode community now.

I searched for an OS for my home HiFi with a headless Pi Zero 2 and a DAC in a neat wooden box. Since I abhor subscription prize plans, I chose Moode over Volumio. So far I am very satisfied. It runs very stable with both of my two use cases: internet radio streams and Spotify. Thank you for making this possible!

However, there is one thing that I do not understand about the Moode concept. The OS seems very MPD-centered and it appears that control facilities for external sources are quite limited. From a user perspective, I want to control volume, next songs etc. via SSH, hardware buttons etc. without caring if the source is Spotify, MPD, or whatever.

Fortunately, I came across a neat project for IR remote control: https://github.com/Larvitar/MoodeIrRemote This project implements a command dispatcher, which forwards user control requests to the currently active renderer. I find this dispatcher very useful but I am wondering why there seems to be no such functionaltiy implemented in Moode by default (e.g., in form of a command line interface). Have I overlooked something here?

Michi

The command API is documented in the Setup guide
