Hello all!
I am very new to the project but am really enjoying it so far. I got a generic 7.5in touchscreen from Temu (wynk is the brand I believe) and when I plugged the HDMI into my Pi3b+ running MoOde it only showed the terminal. I played with a few settings but could never get the UI (chromium in kiosk) to appear. I dug through some forum threads and the fixes I found there didn't work.
After trying to troubleshoot the errors it seemed like a display server wasn't installed by default so I installed lightdm and now things are working as expected.
Was this the correct thing to do? Was there something I missed? I like keeping as few packages on the box as possible so if lightdm wasn't needed, I'd be curious to learn what I did wrong or should have tried.
