I indeed have a few sound interfaces available that are of good quality but are no longer supported or outdated. Especially FireWire versions unfortunately are obsolete now. But getting those to work on a Pi will be challenging. The cube will be my first try. I just got Moode running on a Pi zero 2W,

If in the end you decide to not use the Cube I can recommend an USB DAC. I think the sound quality and also reusability of a USB DAC are very good. There's plenty of nice DACs from e.g. SMSL and Topping available on Marktplaats for instance. Just found me a very nice Topping E30 II in mint condition on marktplaats, it now happily plays together with my RPi4 with moOde.

I have a SMSL C100 in my shopping cart. First I'm going to do some tests, but I guess this one will be ordered soon.
If the cube still works, it can be a nice second system in the future.
