That did the trick. Odd, I doubted it would matter if i was certain the device i intended to connect from was on the same router channel as the RPi.
Of note: difficulty connecting to the network when only 5gh was enabled. Had to use 2.4gh only.
There was a problem with the audio output setting. Resolved! Thanks so much for your help
