The next time you experience the issue run the command below to see if Linux actually detected the DAC.

Code:

aplay -l

If the DAC was not detected it would suggest some sort of hardware or power supply issue. If the DAC was detected then in Audio Config increase "Device ready wait" time and see if that provides a workaround.
