Introducing pleezer: a Deezer Connect player
What in hell may Deezer-connect do to the listening experience of those not using it, so that at the HQ they decided to drop it...?!?
They are as fake as a 21-dollar bill.

When you use Deezer Connect to control another official Deezer app, you will see that this has become very unreliable. The cause is with the remote playback of the official Deezer apps. This has led to a lot of complaints on various forums.

Which is why I am pleading with Deezer to keep the remote control alive, because that's just fine.
Please put in a word over at the official Deezer Community site if you feel the same!

I see you have posted a clear and strong message on the Deezer Community. Thank you.

Per immediately, current versions of pleezer can no longer login to Deezer. I just did an early release of v0.18.0 to fix that: https://github.com/roderickvd/pleezer/re...ag/v0.18.0

In light of the Deezer Connect removal announcement, I do not know how long this will hold up. Deezer Connect still works on it with today's Deezer apps on iOS and Android. Maybe you should all disable any app auto-update feature on your phones.

v0.18.0 also features a new equal-loudness volume control. I wanted to polish a bit more before I released it, but here you have it already. Consider it a bit experimental and let me know how it goes. I'll work on it more in the next release... should Deezer Connect hold up.

Don't forget to tell Deezer you want Connect back! https://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=7704

Got it. I'll bump to that version for upcoming 3.3.4.

Never a dull moment :-0

I learned today that existing logins on the mobile app keep the Deezer Connect functionality. But once you log out and in again, you no longer have the Deezer Connect option in the app. Nothing I can do about that… :-(

Ok, got it.

I'll go ahead and hide the feature but leave all the code in place just in case.
Should I bump to 0.18.0 anyway or stay with 0.17.2 ?

For anyone who remains logged in on its mobile app, v0.18.0 will work. Deezer has only hidden the feature from its UI at this point, but their apps still contain the code.

But I believe apps refresh their logins every two weeks. Unless Deezer changes their stance, at that point we will be dead in the water.
