Click on Track goes search with Album string - strange behavior
Click on artist goes to Tag.
I would like to go to Album on album click because often prefer listening in shuffle mode, sometimes need to go listen full album
1. Okay so click on Album does nothing
- Theres a bug in the CSS that assigns cursor:pointer to the Album Name. Fixed.
2. Click on Track goes search with Album string - strange behavior
- Not strange. Most common is to search for the Album containing the track because you prolly want to know more about the Album, Artist and other tracks on the Album
Click on artist goes to Tag
- This also highlights the Album and displays the track list and so its equivalent to what you would see in Album view
No it does not highlights the album of selected track, it opens Artist with all albums, and for playing it advises All albums of artist, nothing is selected

Retried two times with different content.
Opens tag view, selects Tosca, and scrolls down to end of all Artists. If i scroll up half library i see Tosca is selected. But in right panel is just list of Tosca's albums, and nothing selected. What can cause that? Tried to shut off adblocks and other stuff, did not help

Its not obvious to me what might be happening on your end.
What client and Browser are you using?
You could try opening the Browser console and seeing if there are any errors.
Not sure if it's the same issue but for me, the Artist name is bundled with the album name under the song name so when that's clicked, instead of the artist tag, I get the album.
Any idea why the album name is added to the artist name in playback?

The change to "Artist - Album" on one line instead of separate lines for Artist and Album was made as part of modernizing mobile portrait. It has the same function as before when you click it. It switches to Tag view and automatically selects the Genre, Artist and Album.

ETA: screen shots
Doesn't work here. Would you might adding a screen shot of your library preferences? Maybe it only works with a specific combo?

The prefs shouldn't matter.
List the steps so I can try to reproduce your issue.
ETA: Nvm, I see where there is breakage. I think it might need a redo. Maybe a context menu with "Go to Album" and "Go to Artist" selections. Something like that.

Same here. The feature only works when I am in the same genre than the one playing. If I am in another Genre it stays within the genre and Artist/Album is not highlited at all.
Here the sample pictures when I am playing something from Electronic Genre, but was before looking in Genre Indie. Same issue on both my moode players

And that's how it looks when I was in the Electronic Genre. But still only Genre and Album column is highlighted (even if I scroll down to the matching Artist, it is not highlighted).
I am pretty sure this worked earlier. Recently I retagged all my files and changed e.g. from albumartist / performer / artist mixup to album artist / artist....
UPDATE: Just figured this also only functions 2/10 times. Mostly it does not even highlight any album.
