Solved: NAS Library Issues
#1
9.3.0
Pi5 4GB

So I'm trying to connect to my music folder on my NAS, and MoOde doesn't seem to like the idea...

I'm getting mount errors left and right. My credentials are correct. I've tried via discovery and manually setting the ip, but still no love. I'm also not seeing the "NAS" option listed in Library consistently. Sometimes it shows up, along with NVME, USB, etc. But they all quickly disappear.

Don't include "smb:" as part of the path. That's a protocol specification not part of a hostname.

Enter just "192.168.1.154/Music" as the Path.  [Here I assume your Samba server is publishing a share named "Music". If not, adjust accordingly.]

Without more information, I can't say why using the SCAN feature didn't work for you. it should have.

Similarly, more information would be needed to understand the statement

First things first, try mounting a share manually using the correct path specification.

I could swear I tried that... It's the most obvious/simple option after all!

That being said, I removed the old NAS config and started fresh as you instructed.
Input "192.168.1.154/Music" and my credentials, got a green check, saved the settings, navigated to home, and clicked Refresh Library.

Judging by the fact that the throbber has been continuing to cycle for 5+ minutes while I write this reply (which it was not doing before) I'm going to take a guess that things may actually be working this time!

Edit: Yep, its working! Thanks!!!

"throbber" Lol!
Yes the spinner shows update activity.
My NAS has a corresponding activity light and when I do a Library update I see both active and go get a tea (allergic to coffee)
Once finished-stopped all is well :-)

Mark as solved

Glad to hear you get your library mounted.

Be aware that if the IP address of your NAS changes (example, because you're using DHCP address mode and your router hands out a different IP address to your NAS the next time you boot up your systems) then moOde will lose sight of the remote share.

If the hostname of your NAS host is, for example, mynas, then using "mynas/Music" or "mynas.local/Music" as the library path should work equally well and won't be affected by the problem I mention above. [I don't have a local DNS resolver on my LAN so I would have to use "mynas.local/Music"]

Still curious that the SCAN function didn't work for you.

Good thing the Proclaimers haven't access to your network!
