I have an old 32bit version (8.3.9 2024-02-23) of Moode on my Pi Zero W with a LG HI Fi / B&O DAC. All seems to work fine, but am wondering about the Audio settings type of 0dB vs Hardware. Is one better than the other for Audio Quality?
I've always used 'hardware' as I can control it from the Web Interface but now have an amp with remote volume control.
Thanks.

Technically speaking Fixed (0dB) = Hardware at 100
If using Hardware or Software volume in moOde along with a downstream volume control on a Amp/Pre you should calibrate overall system volume for least attenuation in moOde.
1. Turn Amp volume all the way down
2. Set moOde volume to 100
3. Play a track that represents what you typically listen to
4. Gradually raise the Amp volume to a level that is the loudest you would ever listen at
5. Reduce moOde volume to your typical listening level
Usually after calibrating in this way moOde volume will be around 85 or 90 for typical listening level. This is very little attenuation and will result in no audible distortion even at lower volume levels.
