Instruction Guide touchscreen MPI3508
#1
I connected the RP4b to the HDMI and the display lights up and I see the GUI. Unfortunately there is no touch... I tried to install the LCD-show drivers but the system freezes and I have to flash the SD again.

Can you help me?

Post your startup log and tell us what make and model of screen you have and we can try to help.

I bought an MPi3508 LCD touchscreen some 6 years ago. Once I got it, I quickly gave up on it as a moOde GUI device. I was hoping using it would be similar to using my smartphone. Not so.

The display quality was markedly inferior and the resistive touch-screen input was difficult to use---it was hard to hit the right spot and I ended up having to use a touch stylus instead of my finger to get it to respond reliably. The device now sits in my drawer of forgotten toys. It might still get used in a project someday, but I doubt it..

Having said that, if you are determined to use it with a current release of moOde player, be aware that (1) the software drivers provided on various Asian support sites are very much out of date, and (2) the scripts that came with them couldn't be applied blindly to moOde, even in the old days. You'll have to figure out the part of the vendor's software that applies to the touchscreen input and make it work with Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm. (I'm not interested, sorry.)

I"d strongly advise using the Raspberry Pi Touch2 display.

Kent

I think I'm doing the same thing with my display. I'm sorry that I have to redesign and build the new cabinet for the housing. Does this Raspberry Pi Touch2 that you recommend work well both for touch and display? Do you think the peppymeter runs correctly?
